Free baggage allowance for the combined transport service

For tickets issued on or after July 25, 2012, according to the Department of Transportation (DOT) of the United States, the baggage rules of the first marketing carrier who is the first airline to submit to DOT the baggage rules and data (First Marketing Carrier in DOT) apply to the whole journey.

If the FMC (First Marketing Carrier) on your itinerary is the airline other than Air China, then the free checked baggage allowance will be determined in accordance with the standards of that airline.

If the FMC on your itinerary is Air China, then the free checked baggage allowance will follow the standards of Air China. If the FMC is another carrier and code shares with Air China, then the free checked baggage allowance still follow the standards of Air China.

In order to avoid delays, if you need to check your baggage, please arrive at the airport as early as possible to allow enough time to complete the check-in process.
