- Travel instructions
An infant between 14 days old and two years old must be accompanied by an adult passenger who is at least 18 years old in order to take a flight.
For safety reasons, we do not provide air transport services to infants who are less than 14 days old or to premature infants who are less than 90 days old. We suggest you choose another means of transportation for your trip.
One adult passenger may travel with up to two infants, one of whom can travel on an infant fare, while the other must occupy a seat and travel on a Child Fare ticket; or, one individual adult passenger may travel with an infant and two minors; or if the infant is ill, the individual adult passenger may travel only with one infant.
- Carriage quantity limitations
To ensure flight safety, different types of aircraft on different routes are subject to different carriage quotas for infant passengers in accordance with the safety regulations for passenger carriage requirements for various aircraft types issued by CAAC.
To ensure that you and your child have a smooth trip, please submit a travel request for the infant passenger to our ticketing staff at the time you book or purchase your ticket. After confirming that the infant carriage quota for the flight has not been exceeded, we will issue a ticket for you and the infant traveling with you to ensure that the infant will be allowed to board with you when you arrive at the airport for your flight. By doing this, you can avoid the need to change your itinerary because the infant carriage quota for your flight has been exceeded.
- Applicable fares
An infant who is younger than two years old on the departure date is charged 10% of the normal adult fare and does not have his or her own seat. If you would like your infant to occupy a seat, please purchase a Child Fare ticket. To take an Air China flight, an infant who is two years or older on the departure date must occupy a seat and is required to purchase a Child Fare ticket.
